At its heart is a caretaker who washes the dead, carries food to the sick and records the final messages of the departed in a black-covered book. Meanwhile, their own body is beginning to change in ways science cannot fully explain.
When a lost love returns to walk beside them, they begin a journey towards something beyond both life and death.
